Freisamer

The freisamer is a Cépage tank German of white grapes.

Origin and geographical distribution

The type of vine is obtaining Karl Müller in the institute Staatliches Weinbauinstitut with Freiburg-in-Brisgau. The genetic cause is checked and it is a crossing of the type of vines Sylvaner X gray Pinot carried out in 1916. The type of vine is authorized in many Länder in Germany but the type of vine is multiplied little passing 24 hectares in 1996 to 12 hectares in 2001. The freisamer is cultivated a little in Suisse.

Farming aptitudes

Maturity is of second average time: 15 days after the chasselas.

Technological potential

The bunches are small with averages and the bays are of small size with average. The bunch is cylindrical and compact. The type of vine is of good strength and a regular fertile average. The type of vine gives dry wines white approaching those the gray pinot.

Synonyms

The freisamer is known under initials FR.21-15 and the name Freiburger (prohibited in 1958)
