Frederik Ruysch
Frederik Ruysch is a Médecin and a anatomist Dutch, born the March 23rd 1638 with $the Hague and dead the February 22nd 1731.
He is the son of a small civil servant. He is initially apprentice in an apothecary and studies the Médecine under the direction of Jan Swammerdam (1637-1680) with Leyde. He obtains his diploma in 1664. The following year, it becomes praelector in the guild of the surgeons of Amsterdam. In 1668, he becomes professor near the midwife of the city. It obtains the recognition of its pars thanks to an experiment showing the presence of valves in the lymphatic system. It also develops remarkable techniques for the safeguarding of anatomical specimens as well as the creation of Diorama S. In 1679, it is employed as medical examiner by the court of Amsterdam. It also gives conferences of Botanique in the small school, Anteneum.
Its Cabinet of curiosities is acquired by Pierre Large the (1672-1725) for the sum of 30.000 guilders. It begins another immediately of them. So some of these anatomic specimens survive, none of these dioramas did not survive to him differently than by illustrations engraved in particular by Cornelius Huyberts.
