Frederick Brooks (April 19th 1931) is a software engineer in and Informaticien.
Following various observations, Brooks became project manager of OS/360, one of the most expensive projects and more late of the data processing, which failed to kill IBM. Under its cane, IBM could deliver one of the most powerful computers which are, which was worth the Prix Turing in Brooks.
It is also known for its book the Myth of the month-man , work exposing its experiment of the data-processing development, based on the development of OS/360. It is this book which made popular, in the data processing specialists, the expression Balle silver.
Honors
It received the Prix Turing in 1999 for its contributions in “ structure of the computers, operating systems and logiciels ”.
