Frederic de Saint-Sernin

Frederic de Saint-Sernin (of which the complete name is Frederic Marie Joseph Bruno de Laparre de Saint-Sernin), Politician French, was born the February 14th 1958 with Rheims (Marne). He is the son of Jean de Laparre de Saint-Sernin (1921-1981) and of Claude Hétier. It is also the cousin of Dominique de Villepin. He is member of the UMP and is president of the Stade of Rennes. He is married and father of five children.

Professional path

Initially manager of Cinédécors (1981), it enters to the lessivier Benckiser France (1983) as product manager then responsible for the public relations. He becomes then Directeur of information to the town hall of Grenoble (1986) then enters to the District council of Ile-de-France two years later as assistant editor of the communication. Professional path and policy mix then, when he becomes operations manager near Alain Juppe and of Jacques Chirac. He is named president of the Stade of Rennes on December 4th, 2006 to replace Emmanuel Cueff.

In April 2007, it is named Chevalier of the Légion of honor.

Political course

In 1974, and, according to its clean dires, until 1981, it militates with the Groupes Action Youth (GAJ), one of the movements of Extrême most radical right-hand side of the time. His/her first cousin, Dominique de Villepin, obtain finally that it ceases belonging to the GAJ.

In 1988, Frederic de Saint-Sernin belongs to the team of countryside of Jacques Chirac, for the presidential election. In 1990, it is named general secretary of its party, then acting general (1995). In March 1993, it becomes appointed the Dordogne. Beaten at the time of the anticipated legislative elections from May-June 1997, it finds its seat the June 16th 2002, for XIIe legislature (2002 - 2007), in the 3rd district of the the Dordogne, mandate of which it resigns in 2004, becoming Secretary of State. It will thus be replaced with the head of its district by its adviser, Bernard Mazouaud. Meanwhile, it will be representing of the French Co-prince in Andorra (1999).

It was to advise of Jacques Chirac on the institutional and parliamentary affairs, and the studies of opinion and the surveys, function which it left on December 4th, 2006.

  • April 14th 2004 - May 31st 2005: Secretary of State to Town and country planning, it is delegated near the Minister for the Equipment, Transport, Town and country planning, Tourism and the Sea of the third government of Jean-Pierre Raffarin, to replace Philippe Briand
  • June 16th, 2002 - today: First-assistant of the Mayor of Nontron, the Dordogne
