Frederic V of Denmark (March 31st 1723 with Copenhagen - January 13rd 1766) to the castle of Christiansborg, was king of Denmark and Norway of 1746 to its death.

Marriage and descent
He marries in 1743 Louise of Great Britain (1724-1751), girl of Georges II of Great Britain and Caroline d' Ansbach. From this union were born:

- Sophie Madeleine (1746-1813), wife in 1766 of Gustave III of Sweden (1746 - 1792);
- Caroline (1747-1820), wife in 1764 the voter Guillaume IX of Hesse, (1743 - 1821);
- Christian VII of Denmark (1749-1808);
- Louise (1750-1831), wife in 1766 the landgrave Charles de Hesse-Cassel (1744 - 1836), (wire of Guillaume II of Hesse-Cassel, (two children: of which Louise de Hesse-Cassel who married in 1810 Guillaume de Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderbourg-Glücksbourg). They were the grandparents of Christian IX of Denmark.
In 1752, it remarie with Juliane Marie of Brunswick-Wolfenbutel (1729-1796), girl of the duke Ferdinand Albert II of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel and Antoinette Amélie of Brunswick-Luneburg.

Biography
The Denmark had to face the question of succession to the Danish throne (the principal branch of the royal House was going to disappear). This situation created a crisis at the beginning of the reign of its grandson, Christian VII of Denmark, it affected at the same time Denmark and Schleswig Holstein. Later, its great-grandson by the female line, Christian IX of Denmark married his arrère-small-girl Louise de Hesse-Cassel, it became the heir to the throne.
Frederic V of Denmark founded the royal Academy of the Danish Art schools with Copenhagen, it opened officially the March 31st 1754 for its thirty and unième birthday. It made build the castle of Amalienborg (1669 with 1673).
The personal influence of Frederic V of Denmark was limited because of its alcoholism. mental. They are very able ministers who controlled during most of his reign. Its ministers were: Adam Gottlob Moltke, the count Johann Hartwig Ernest von Berstorff and Schimmelmann. They avoided the implication of Denmark in the European wars of this time. Its last words would have been: “ It is a great consolation for me in my last hour that I never offended whoever voluntarily and that it does not have there blood drops on my hands ”. He was buried in the cathedral of Roskilde.
Genealogy
Frederic V of Denmark belongs to the first branch of the Maison of Oldenbourg. This line gave kings to the Norway, Sweden, Denmark, it died out in 1863 with the death of Frederic VII of Denmark.
