Frederic Thiriez
Frederic Thiriez is the president of the Professional football league since 2002. He is also deputy vice-president of the French federation of Football and lawyer with the Council of State and the Court of appeal since 1990. Born in 1952, married and father of four children, Frederic Thiriez, graduate of the Institute of Political Studies of (1973) and former student Paris (1972), bachelor of law of the National school of administration (Promotion Andre Malraux 1977), began his professional path in the administration.
Listener with the Council of State between 1977 and 1981, it becomes in 1981 Adviser technical with the Cabinet of the Minister of state, of the decentralization and Minister of Interior Department, then in 1982, Principal private secretary of the Secretary of State in charge of public safety. In 1984, it is named Principal private secretary of the Minister of state in charge with the Plan and town and country planning. It will occupy this station until in 1986.
After having occupied the function of Director of the political matters, administrative and financial of Overseas with the Ministry for the DOM-TOM of 1988 with 1990, it becomes, in 1990, lawyer with the Council of State and the Court of appeal and associated SCP Lyon-Caen, Fabiani, Thiriez.
Frederic Thiriez is administrator of the League of Football Professionnel since 1995 and is the President since his election the May 28th 2002. In addition, he was member of the Federal council of the French federation of Football of 1992 to 1995. He is also today, deputy Vice-président of the FF and Member of the Commission of the Professional football of UEFA.
Frederic Thiriez, Knight of the National order of the Merit (1990) and Chevalier of the Legion of Honor (2004) were member in 1984, with Pierre Mazeaud, of French forwarding Hidden Peak in the the Himalayas and member of Franco-German forwarding in the Antarctic in 1989. He is in particular the author of the report/ratio on the French polar research which led to the creation of the Polar Institut. He is also musician and impassioned lyric art.
At the end of season 2006/2007, Frederic Thiriez launches " an ambitious development plan of football professionnel" , that it names " Footpro 2012 ". The objectives are:
- that the championship of France is 3rd with index UEFA in 2012 (it is currently 4th),
- that there is a victory of a French club in League of the Champions from here 2012,
- that two French clubs are regularly qualified for the quarterfinals of a Cut of Europe,
- that 50% of the players of L1 are international (only 1/3 are it currently),
- that the team of France at least includes/understands 2/3 players resulting from the championship of France,
- that 15 stages of L1 and L2 are renovated from here 2012,
- that 25% of the receipt of the clubs come billetery
- and finally that the professional arbitration is assisted video.
