Frederic Subra
Frederic Subra (born in 1861 and died in 1935 in Mercus-Garrabet (Ariège)) is a militant trade unionist of the postal and telecommunications authorities of the beginning of the 20th century.
Biographical notes
Clerk in the services " ambulants" railway of the Stations, it is as of its foundation in 1900, one of the leaders of the A.G of the agents of the postal and telecommunications authorities, which holds place of trade union. It is also one of the persons in charge of the Defense committee for the trade union rights, which fight to obtain that this right, recognized in 1884 by the law Waldeck-Rousseau, applies to the Public office.
Leader of " brigade" with the travelling , it is at the time of the strikes of 1909 one of the national leaders of the movement. With this occasion, it is reproduced on a postcard produced at the time of these events by editor E.L.D., under the title: " Mr. Subra, the big boss of the grève". In the same way, it is one of the 14 " camarades" post-office employees whose clerk of the Stations Denis Morer draws the features for the publication of a series of postcards, sold with the profit of revoked May 1909.
After his retirement, socialist candidate in 1919 (chief candidate) with the legislative elections, in his native department, he is mayor of Mercus-Garrabet of December 1919 to his death, in October 1935. Rejoined a time with the French Communist party, it joined the " old woman maison" SFIO.
