Frederic Michalak
Frederic Michalak , born on October 16th, 1982 with Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), is a player of Rugby to XV French, small son of immigrant Polish on the paternal side and Tunisian from his/her mother. He plays in team of France and evolves/moves at the half station of half of opening or of fray.
With the Stade Toulousain, he becomes champion of France as of his first professional year, in 2001. He is then presented like a great hope of French Rugby, and knows even his first selection in team of France on November 10th, 2001 in Rugby with XV against the team of South Africa.
He becomes then champion of Europe in 2003 with his club. In the tread, it disputes the world cup 2003 with the team of France, from which he then becomes the appointed striker. It carries out very suitable services, until a semi-final missed against England, which will be worth many criticisms to him.
In 2005, Frederic Michalak gains a new cut of Europe with his club.
Frederic Michalak is then regarded as a very large technician, with a vision of the play except par, being able to play at the same time like half of opening and half of fray. The question of knowing to which of these two stations it must play been the subject even of a recurring debate in the medium of French Rugby, even if Frederic Michalak for some time seems to be himself specialized in a station of half of opening. But he is also criticized for his play with the often failing defensive foot (in particular since its missed semi-final of 2003). Victim of competition, and also of several wounds, Frederic Michalak has carried out for a few years of the appearances more spaced in team of France. It nevertheless was retained for the world cup 2007. During the world cup he played 3 times as a holder and yielded for the final stages his place of holder to the station of half of opening to Lionel Beauxis, covering to him on the bench the stations of half of opening and half of mélée.
In 2007, it leaves its club of always, the Stade Toulousain, and signs for the Sharks (South Africa), frankness from the Super 14 that it will join after the world cup 2007.
It also takes part in the series of the Sporting Coq “Rugby gold not to Be” in company of Sergio Parisse and Jean-Pierre Rives.
