Frederic Leighton

Lord Frederic Leighton , born the December 3rd 1830 with Scarborough and dead the January 25th 1896, is an artist painter and British sculptor of the time victorienne.

At the 19th century, this artist was regarded as one of more with the mode and most influential of his time, so that it was named, in 1878, president of the Royal Academy.

The reason for which Lord Leigthon had such an amount of success is very simple: its paintings collect perfectly the nostalgic spirit of the time victorienne and reflect this search of the “golden age” of old the Greece and Rome. In its works Clytie, Idylle and Greek Girls collecting of the rollers at the edge of sea , Leighton idealizes this glorious past in vogue at its time.
