Frederic Ier de Brandebourg , (in German Friedrich Ier von Brandenburg), born the September 21st 1371 with Nuremberg, deceased the September 20th 1440 with Cadolzburg (close to Nuremberg).

In 1401, Frederic Ier de Brandebourg married Elisabeth of Bavaria-Landshut (1383 - 1442), (girl of the duke Frederic of Bavaria-Landshut.

Biography
Frederic Ier de Brandebourg entered very early to the service of the Austria, it fought at the sides of Sigismond Ier of the Holy roman Empire. With the death of Frederic V of Nuremberg, the possessions were divided between the two brothers, Jean III of Nuremberg accepted Bayreuth while Frederic Ier de Brandebourg preserved Ansbach. In 1400, it tried a negotiation with Sigismond Ier and Robert III of Palatinat, néammoins, in September 1399, Frederic Ier de Brandebourg took the party of Robert III of Palatinat. The September 20th 1410, like representative of Brandebourg, Frederic Ier took part in the election of Sigismond Ier of the Holy roman Empire. With a great rigor, Frederic Ier de Brandebourg fought against the revolt of noble of Brandebourg (particularly the family of Quitzow), it managed to restore peace.
Frederic Ier de Brandebourg was member of the Company of the Parakeets and the League of Constancy.
With the Council of Constancy, the April 30th 1415, Sigismond Ier raised Frederic Ier under margrave and prince-voter of Brandebourg. The April 18th 1417, Sigismond Ier granted officially the title of margrave to Frederic Ier de Brandebourg.
Frederic Ier de Brandebourg did not share with Sigismond Ier the idea of a repression against the Hussites, the relations between the two men became colder.
Frederic Ier de Brandebourg withdrew in his castle with Cadolzburg in 1425, it transferred regency from the margravat to his Jean son in 1426. (there remained however voter). After 1427, it organized the fight against Hussites.

Frederic Ier de Brandebourg belongs to the first branch of the Maison of Hohenzollern, this line gave voters, kings, emperors with the Prussia, the Germany. Frederic Ier de Brandebourg is ascending current chief of the imperial House of Germany, the prince Georges Frederic of Prussia.
