Frederic IX of Hohenzollern , known as Prince Noir (in German Friedrich IX von Hohenzollern, Schwarzgraf ), deceased in 1379.

Marriage and descent

In 1341, Frederic IX of Hohenzollern married Adélaïde de Hohenberg-Wildberg, (girl of the count Bouchard V of Hohenberg-Wildberg).

Five children were born from this union:

  • Frederic X of Hohenzollern, († 1412), count de Zollern-Zollern, it married Anne de Hohenberg-Nagold († 1421)

  • Frederic-Ostertag Ier de Hohenzollern, († 1410)

  • Anne de Hohenzollern († 1418), it entered the orders

  • Adelaide Hohenzollern († 1415), it married Jean von Strahlenberg († 1408)

  • Sophie de Hohenzollern († 1418)

  • Frederic-Ostertag de Hohenzollern, († 1400)

Frederic IX of Hohenzollern succeeded his father in 1333, it was the first prince of the House to bear the name of Hohenzollern.

Genealogy

Frederic IX of Hohenzollern belongs to the fourth branch (Hohenzollern-Hechingen line) resulting from the first branch of the Maison of Hohenzollern. This fourth line belongs to the branch Souabe of the family of Hohenzollen, it died out in 1869 with died of Frederic Guillaume de Hohenzollern-Hechingen. Frederic IX of Hohenzollern is the ascending one of Michel Ier of Romania.
