Frederic Guichen is a young person Accordéon French ist, born in Brittany with the beginning of the year 1970.

History

It is at the origin in 1986 of the creation of one of the groups emblématiques of the Breton Fest-noz, Ar Re Yaouank, headlight group of the years 1990, until its dissolution in 1998. Frederic Guichen was the heart of the group: founding member with his brother Jean-Charles, one owes him of many compositions and arrangements. He also showed how the diatonic accordion could serve the rhythmic one of a group of fest-noz, such as for example on the Plinn ha dall ha dall daoned (album " Breizh positive")

After the dissolution of the group, it continued a career solo, by publishing a very personal album in particular, with Irish sonorities, " The moon noire".

Thereafter, with his brother Jean-Charles, it explored other ways to assemble another group, initially named " X" project; , which was going finally to be confined of the four-bit byte " Guichen". One finds certainly the energetic Ar sound there Re Yaouank, with a will however to leave the strict framework of the music to dance Breton to open with airs of Irish inspiration or oneiric melodies. Fred Guichen and his brother compose the majority of the pieces and surround themselves by other musicians of which Etienne Callac with low and a beater to form an innovative four-bit byte/quintet and instigating once again the Breton music. In three albums, the blue album result " Memory vive" , the red album " Frères" and " Dreams off Brittany" their last album left in November 2007.

Musical style

Formed in particular by Remy Martin, it quickly became one of the diatonists more for the Breton music scene. Its play is characterized in particular by its energy, its great virtuosity and its Irish inspiration. It shows a virtuosity époustouflante on the Irish topics; on the Breton topics, it privileges especially the power and the cleanliness of each note, to lead to a music very dancing.
