Frederic Chaslin

Frederic Chaslin is a Leader, Compositeur and Pianiste French, born with Paris in 1963.

Biography

He studies with the Conservatoire Higher National of Music of Paris where he obtains the first prices of harmony, counterpoint, running away, accompaniment with the piano, direction of song, orchestration, then with the Mozarteum of Salzburg where he is graduate in the class of accompaniment of the Lied of Paul von Schilawsky.

He becomes the assistant of Daniel Barenboïm with the Orchestre of Paris and the Festival of Bayreuth, then that of Pierre Boulez to the Ensemble Intercontemporain. He is successively named musical director of the Opera of Rouen (1991), then Symphony orchestra of Jerusalem (1999) and finally of Nationaltheater of Mannheim (2005). He is, from 1999 to 2005, chief in residence of the Staatsoper of Vienna, directs each year since 1997 Deutsche Oper of Berlin, the Metropolitan Opera New York, as well as symphonic full orchestras the such Philharmonia of London (May 2007), the Orchestra of Paris, the symphonic and the philharmonic of Vienna, the orchestras of Turin, Rome, Venice, Valence, Barcelona, Prague, Munich, Tokyo and Nagoya.

As a pianist, it gave three concerts as a soloist of the 5 {{E}} concerto of Beethoven to Staatsoper of Vienna with the Wiener Philharmoniker in October 2001, and the Concerto in ground of Ravel in Nagoya in April 2007.

As a type-setter, Frederic Chaslin wrote 7 operas and many melodies and Lieder with piano or orchestra.
