Frederic Benrath

Frederic Benrath is a French painter born with Chatou in 1930 under the name of Philippe Gerard. He is deceased in Paris on April 17th, 2007 of the continuations of a traffic accident.

From 1949 with its death, he lived and worked in Paris.

Its work was crowned by several prices:

1946 Prices of the town of Toulon

1961 Prices of criticisms second biennial of Paris

1964 Prices Victor Choquet

In 1963-1964, he is stock-broker of Ford Foundation, and remains in Berlin

From 1969 to 1995, he is professor in the school of architecture, Versailles.

Its work was associated with that of the group of the " Nuagists " with Fernando Lerin, Rene Duvillier, Rene Laubies, Marcelle Loubchansky, Pierre Graziani, Nasser Assar.

Benrath also carried out stage sets (in particular those of the Opera of the world of Jacques Audiberti to the Lutèce Theater), banners (festival of the town of Lyon) and sculptures.

An exposure of its works is currently held with the Museum of the Art schools of Lyon (until January 28th, 2008).
