Frederic-Auguste II of Saxony

Frederic-Auguste of Saxony (May 18th 1797 - August 9th 1854) is king de Saxe June 6th 1836 with the August 9th 1854.

He is the son of the duke Maximilien of Saxony and Caroline of Bourbon-Parma.

Frederic-Auguste of Saxony married in 1797 Caroline of Habsbourg-Lorraine. Widower in 1832, it married in 1833 Marie of Bavaria.

Nephew of Frederic-Auguste {{Ier}} the Juste, it succeeded in 1836 his uncle Antoine {{Ier}}. Associated for several years with the government, it had had the greatest part with the liberal constitution of 1831. It had a peaceful reign, entreated the storm in 1848 by some new concessions and could be devoted to leisure with its studious tastes: he liked especially botany.
