Freddie Hubbard
Frederick Dewayne Hubbard , better known under the name of Freddie Hubbard , is a Trompettiste of Jazz born the April 7th 1938 with Indianapolis in the state of Indiana (the USA).
Biography
As of its young age, he plays with the guitarist Wes Montgomery. This one becomes its model, it will be inspired some throughout its life. In 1958, it moves in New York where it plays with Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, Slide Hampton, J.J. Johnson, Philly Joe Jones, Quincy Jones, Oliver Nelson and Sony Rollins. It then started to play of the Hard bop in the group Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers what made it famous. With this group, it created several albums of which Mosaic , Buhaina' S Delight and Free For All .In the Years 1960, it records 36 albums. The majority are the traditional ones today. It also launches out in the Free jazz.
The Years 1970, Freddie enters the group VSOP directed by Herbie Hancock. This group innovates in a new kind of jazz: the Free bop (mixture of Be bop of the years 1940, of method of the years 1950 and of free jazz of the years 1960). Freddie knows some of its greater successes with this formation.
The Années 1970 are really the culminating point of the celebrity of Freddie Hubbard. It is in these years that it records, with Palladium, its larger album: California Concert , including celebrates it “Red Clay”. It carries out sensational improvisations and excellent musical performances. He is regarded as one of the largest trumpet player of the time.
He launches out then in the Smooth jazz, where he has bad criticisms. Health issues oblige it to stop the trumpet, but it starts again to record albums once cured.
Over his old days, one always remembers Hubbard as an excellent trumpet player thanks to his phenomenal compositions showing many Homo Faber.
