Fred Moore

Robert Fred Moore (born the September 7th 1911 - died the November 23rd 1952 of a car accident), was an organizer of the Walt Disney Productions, it is known for its work on the style and the animation of Mickey Mouse, in particular the model creates in 1938 for the sequence of the Sorcerer's apprentice in Fantasia.

Moore was also known (apart from the studios) for its drawings of women, often naked, known like " girls of Freddie Moore ". One finds this graphic style in certain Disney productions, like " the centaurettes " of the Pastoral Symphony in Fantasia or teenagers of All the Cats Join In , a sequence of the Musical box.

Fred Moore was born the September 7th 1911 with Los Angeles, California (the United States). In its youth he attends the Polytechnic High School of Los Angeles. Then it provided some drawings to the Los Angeles Junior Times .

He enters to the Disney studios in 1930, at the 19 years age. He works initially on some cartoons of Mickey and the Silly Symphonies . in 1932, it takes part in the production of the Three small pigs before Walt Disney names it, in 1934, director of animation on the characters of the dwarves in the first Feature-length film of animation, White-Snow and the 7 dwarves (1937). He works then on the characters of Crapule (Pinocchio), Timothée (Dumbo), the Centaurettes and again Mickey in Fantasia. Meanwhile, it takes part in some short films of which some were rewarded ( Three orphan kittens , victorious of a Oscar and the Brave man Small Tailor , nominated). On the whole, Moore took part in nearly 35 short films.

At the end of the years 1930, Moore falls into the spiral from alcohol what affects its work and its relations with his/her colleagues and Walt. It leaves the studios in 1945 to go to work at Walter Lantz on cartoons of Woody Woodpecker and Andy Panda before returning in 1948. The talent of Moore does not resist its alcohol problems and its confrontation with novel methods of animations accompanied by new generations of artists. With the beginning of the year 1950, Walt decides to keep it away by hoping that it goes up the slope quickly.

A few months later, a terrible news arrives the studios, to Fred Moore died of the continuations of a car accident which has occurred the evening of the November 23rd 1952 with Burbank, California (the United States).

Moore animated the girls of the player of Baseball Casey (called the " Caseyettes ") in the Cartoon Casey beat again . It is about the continuation of another sequence of the film the Musical box ( Casey At the beats ) to which it however did not take part. This cartoon left almost 2 years after its death (1954).
