Freak
Freak is a song recorded in 1978 by the disco music group/funk Chic.
This piece, one of most known of the group, is regarded as the individual one more sold label Atlantic with more than four million specimens.
Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, the two principal members of Knack, composed this song which was entitled in the beginning " Fuck off" (in English, " Be made foutre") after being itself made drive back Studio 54. “We had go with Grace Jones, but it had not left our name to the gatekeeper, who refused to let to us enter, tells the guitarist Nile Rodgers. We were frustrated so much: it was Studio 54, it was the midnight supper of the new year, it was Grace Jones, and we were there, outside, with the most expensive clothing which we and of the elegant shoes, had completely soaked in snow. Then " Fuck Off" was a song of protest. Thereafter, we replaced " Aaaaahh, fuck off! " by " Aaaaahh, freak out! " ”
In the words which were finally recorded, softened to be able to diffuse the title with the radio, the Freak (“monster” or “maniac” in English) refers to a new dance. The expression freak out , it, means to be delirious, behave in an irrational way, and can be translated by pétage of lead .
The song became traditional Dance music, taken again many times, in particular in films, like recently in Shrek 2 .
