Frauenfeld is a Commune Switzerland canton of Thurgovie.
Geography
Located at the periphery of the canton, in full shift, the town of Frauenfeld is however the chief town. The city is located on the river Murg, an affluent of the the Thur.
History
A keep, built by the counts de Kybourg on the current site of Frauenfeld, is quoted for the first time in 1246. The counts arranged a modest strengthened city. To the extinction of the line of Kybourg, the city returned to the Habsbourg.
