Franz Rosenzweig (born the December 25th 1886 - died the December 10th 1929) was a philosopher and a German theologist. Of Jewish family, it is interested very early in the Judaïsme and the Messianisme, topics which will revidendront constantly in its work.

Biography

Specialist in the philosophy of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Franz Rosenzweig developed a thought which falls under the mobility of the Philosophie of the history. Its work is often brought closer to those of Martin Buber and exerted an influence on Walter Benjamin (in particular: the Star of the redemption ).

The French philosopher and professor Stephan Moses devoted a substantial study to him ( the Angel of the history ).
