Franz Pforr
Franz Pforr (° Frankfurt, April 5th, 1788 - † Albano Laziale, June 16th, 1812), is a German painter, member of the Mouvement nazaréen.
Biography
He is the son of Johann Georg Pforr, painter, specialist in the horse and Johanna Christiane Tischbein, downward of the family. At the 12 years age, it loses his parents then, the following year, his only brother. His/her uncle Johann Heinrich Tischbein der Jüngere, a galerist, then takes it under his protection in 1801 with Cassel, encourages it in his formation so that it can be allowed with the Academy of Vienna.In 1805, it is accommodated with this Academy, is the pupil of Heinrich Füger, painter famous of neo-classic style, near of the school to Jacques-Louis David.
Franz Pforr and his/her friends student Johann Friedrich Overbeck, Ludwig Vogel and Johann Konrad Hottinger, dissatisfied, like him, of the formation too impressed of academism of their Master, seek from now on a new form of expression and decide to take as model primitive Italian, predecessors of Raphaël. They found the Brotherhood of Luc saint in 1809.
An obvious artistic contradiction and conflict relations bring the exclusion of these students of the academy; they leave Vienna then and leave for Rome; they settle in this city, in 1810, in the old unused convent franciscain of San Isidoro where they live in community, then found the movement nazaréen, recognized like important running of the German romantic art of first half of the 19th century.
Franz Pforr dies of tuberculosis on June 16th, 1812.

In spite of her short artistic life, Franz Pforr painted some paintings and a hundred drawings and it is one of the most important painters of the German romanticism:- Self-portrait , of Frankfurt
