Franz Janssens

Franz Janssens born with Loverval on April 3rd, 1914, deceased with Charleroi on June 9th, 1985, is a Belgian politician and a Walloon militant.

Laid off in commercial sciences of the University of Mons Franz Janssens will be reviser of companies and militant of the Liberal party, in particular as national president of the Jeunesses libréales (1952). He is co-opted the same year at the Standing Committee of the Walloon National congress. He will be also president of the Walloon liberal Entente (October 1965). He will end up leaving it, estimating that he is not heard by it.

He is to advise communal of Gosselies (1964-1970), senator of 1971 to 1978. He is national president of the Walloon PLP into 1973 which separated from the national PLP following the example Flemish liberals. During the experiment known as of provisional regionalization tried by François Perin then Minister for the institutional reforms in 1974, the Walloon elected officials meet in Namur and train a provisional Walloon District council. It is Franz Janssens who is elected by it president. He exerts this function until 1977.

He contributes to rejoin the Walloon liberal forces with the Walloon PRL following the rallying of Jean Gol, Etienne Knoops and François Perin, PRL which will become PRLw. He is opposed to the Accords of Egmont and Stuyvenberg, notamùment because of the fact that those envisage the cutting of the Flanders and Wallonia under-areas venbant to replace the provinces. He is not re-elected with the senate in 1978. the Encyclopédie of the Walloon Movement devotes a note on page to him 863 of his Volume II.
