Franz Brentano
Franz Brentano (born the January 16th 1838 in Marienberg close to Boppard on the Rhine; died the March 17th 1917 with Zurich) is a philosopher and psychological catholic German, then Austrian, especially known for its handing-over with foreground of the medieval concept of Intentionnalité. He was the professor, with Vienna, of Edmund Husserl and Sigmund Freud.
Franz Brentano had other students who tried to develop his theory of intentionality: Kasimir Twardowski, Alexius Meinong, etc
Its university pulpit was then occupied by Ernst Mach.
