František Kučera (born the February 3rd 1968 with Prague in Czechoslovakia) is a former professional player of Hockey which played station of defender for HC Sparta Prague, the Dukla Jihlava, the Blackhawks of Chicago, the Whalers de Hartford, the Canucks of Vancouver, the Flyers of Philadelphia, the Blue Jackets de Columbus, the Penguins de Pittsburgh, the Capitals of Washington and HC Slavia Prague.

It was fished out by Blackhawks with the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1986 and played partially during four years in the Windy City before being exchanged in Whalers. He also played for Canucks and Flyers before returning to play in Czech Republic at the end of the Saison LNH 1996-97.

Three years later, after a title of champion of Tchéquie obtained with Sparta, Kučera set out again in North America to sign a contract with Blue Jackets. It was yielded to Penguins in the middle of the season, then thereafter with Capitals in company of Jaromír Jágr. At the end of one season at the Capes, it turns over again in Tchéquie, this time at Slavia of Prague with which it gains the championship, the first of the history of the club.

With the international plan, Kučera gained the gold medal with the Winter Olympics of 1998 with Nagano and with the Championnats of the world of 1999 and 2000. He was also elected better defender of the championships of the world of 1998 and 1999.
