Musical influence

It is the first virtuoso of an instrument which before him did not exist almost any more: the recorder. He is regarded still today by all the flutists with nozzle as the father of the modern instrument. He founded an university of the recorder whose courses were very required. It formed many eminent flutists and was also an important actor of the rebirth baroque of the years 1960 to 1980. It made reproduce old instruments that only used to him (instruments of XVIe, XVIIe, XVIIIe centuries). Its interpretations still have (for the majority) the appearances of references.
