Fransèches

Fransèches is a common French, located in the department of the Creuse and the area the Limousin.

Geography

Fransèches is located almost at the center of the department, approximately 30 km in the south-east of Guéret, and approximately at 6 km in the south of Ahun.

History

At the time of the Frank , towards 1150 the commune was called Franceschas who comes from Free (Germanic name of origin very running) with the female suffix - isca which means grounds. That thus means Grounds of Free (According to Mr. Villoutreix Nom of the places of the Limousin ).

The village of Masgot (one does not pronounce the “S”) is a village very decorated with stone sculptures.

At the 19th century, an inhabitant of the village some François Michaud undertook to decorate the village with his granite sculptures.

Each house, each low wall is decorated by carved characters or animals.

A center of Pierre organizes visits and training courses of mason stones for small and large.
