Franky Vercauteren
François Vercauteren better known like Franky or Frankie Vercauteren was born the October 28th 1956 with Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. He has one of the most beautiful careers of Football Belgian eurs, in particular thanks to his period under the shirt of Anderlecht, with which he makes a success of his more beautiful conquests, as well in Belgium as in Europe.
Career of player
He played, between 1975 and 1987, under the jacket of Anderlecht and gained 4 national titles (1981 and one triplet 1985-1986-1987), 1 cut of Belgium (1976), 2 finales of C2 (in 1976 against West Ham United and in 1978 against the Austria Vienna), a final of C3 (in 1983 against the Benfica Lisbon), 2 Supercoupe of the UEFA (in 1976 against the Bayern Munich and in 1978 against Liverpool FC). He also disputed 1 finale of C2 lost (in 1977 against Hamburg) and a final of C3 lost (in 1984 against Tottenham Hotspur). It receipt the Shoe of gold in 1983.He also played 63 times in national team.
He left, between 1987 and 1990 to France, with FC Nantes.
He returned to Belgium in 1990 to the RWD Molenbeek where he will finish his career in footballer in 1993.

Career of trainer
After having put a term at its career of footballer, Franky Vercauteren decides to launch out as a trainer. It started in 1993 with CS Braine where it dealt with the young people. In 1994, and until 1997, it also deals with young people but this Malignant time with Kv before being, in 1997, principal trainer of the same club.In 1998, Anderlecht recalls it and a post of assistant trainer proposes to him. It accepts and will become, in September 1998, principal trainer instead of Arie Haan. Indeed, after 6 days of championship, Anderlecht is last and Franky Vercauteren is called with the rescue. With the assistance of Jean Dockx, it will rectify the situation and Anderlecht will finish 3rd this season 1998-1999.
After this fabulous increase, it will become again assistant trainer. It will shoulder Aimé Anthuenis between 1999 and 2001. With Aime Anthuenis, Anderlecht will gain two titles (in 1999-2000 and 2000-2001) and will take part in a great European epopee. All started at the time of the preliminary rounds: Anderlecht eliminated, with the second round the Cypriot ones of Famagouste and faced, with the third and the last turn, FC Oporto. And in spite of the fact that it was not favorite, Anderlecht was qualified for hens of C1. With the first turn, it finished first of its group with its victories in residence vis-a-vis the Dynamo Kiev, with the PSV Eindhoven (which it also beat in Eindhoven) and Manchester United! With the second round, in spite of victories in residence vis-a-vis the Lazio Rome and the Real Madrid, Anderlecht will be eliminated. That remains nevertheless one of the most beautiful European campaigns of Anderlecht.
After this beautiful season, Aimé Anthuenis is called at the Red Diables and Hugo Broos, former player of Anderlecht and trainer of Mouscron, becomes the principal trainer. Franky Vercauteren remains the assistant. Hugo Broos started by finishing second in 2002-2003. The following year, it gained the championship and receipt the price of trainer of the year. Unfortunately, the following year was not also beautiful and in February 2005, Hugo Broos is thanked and, as in 1998, Franky takes again the reindeers. It will not gain the championship leaving it with the rival eternal FC Bruges.
In 2005, Franky Vercauteren becomes principal trainer of the club with like objective the title, the qualification for the Ligue of the Champions having been obtained. He will become champion in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.
November 12th, 2007, after a new against-performance (GB-RSCA: 2-0) which places the champion in title at 7 points of the Brugean leader, Franky Vercauteren is dismissed as a principal trainer of the club. Its place is taken again by Ariel Jacobs as an interim.
