Franklin William Blair

William Franklin Blair is a American zoologist , born the June 25th 1912 with Dayton with the Texas and dead the February 9th 1984 with Austin.
With his brother Albert Patrick Blair (1913-2004), also zoologist, it discovers nature whereas the family lived with Tulsa in Oklahoma. He studies at the university of Tulsa and obtains his Bachelor there off Sciences in 1934 then with the University of Florida and obtains his Master there off Sciences in 1935. Lastly, it obtains its doctorate at the university of the Michigan in 1938 under the direction of the zoologist Lee Raymond Dice (1887-1977).
He briefly works in this last university before being useful in the American air forces during the Second world war. After war, it makes the essence of its career at the university of Texas where he is assistant in 1946, professor in 1955 until its departure with the retirement in 1982.
Blair works mainly on the Mammifère S but also made appear work on the Amphibien S. In addition to her many publications, it exerts a major influence on many students and directs nearly fifty doctorands, the majority on subjects related to the Herpétologie.
He is the author of many publications of which Vertebrates off the United States (1957), The Rusty Lizard: With Population Study (1960), Evolution in the Genus Bufo (1972) and Big Biology: The U.S. - I.B.P. (1977).
