Franklin Leonard Pope
Franklin Leonard Pope (December 2nd 1840 – October 13rd 1895) was an engineer, explorer and American inventor.
It was born with Great Barrington, Massachusetts, the United States and was the son of Ebenezer Pope and Electra Wainwright. It was electric engineer, exploring, inventive, and attorney specialized on the patents. He was a major contributor with the technological advancements of the XIXe century (see). He was one of the leaders of explorations related to the Hakes Overland Telegraph, more known under the name of Russian American Telegraph (see). He married Sarah Amelia Dickinson on August 6th 1873, and they had three children, two girls and a son. Pope was the mentor of Thomas Edison. He died of an accidental electrocution to old 55 years in the basement of his house of Great Barrington.
