Franklin Institute

Founded in the honor of Benjamin Franklin, the Franklin Institute is one of oldest centers for the promotion of sciences in the United States. It also shelters the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial . It was founded in 1824 by Samuel Vaughn Merrick and William H. Keating. Its complete name was then The Franklin Institute off the State off Pennsylvania for the Promotion off the Mechanic Arts . The institute moved into its first buildings in 1825. He was moved on his current site in 1934. He is on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the large avenue which off connects the hotel-of-city to the Philadelphia Museum Art.
