Franklin Edson

Franklin Edson (born in 1832, died in 1904) was an American politician which was mayor of New York of 1883 with 1884. It was present during the inauguration of the Brooklyn Bridge on May 24th 1883, and was the first to mention the need for the construction of the Manhattan Municipal Building in his annual report of 1884.
