Frank companies of the marine
The frank companies of the Navy constituted the defense forces of the News-France of 1683 with 1755. The ministry for the French navy used its own troops to defend the French colonies since 1674. When they started to manage News-France in 1683, the companies were assigned with the protection of the trade of the furs like to that of the colonists. Thereafter, they were supplanted by troops of the army under the orders of Louis-Joseph de Montcalm in 1756. The companies ceased existing with the Canada after the fall of Montreal in 1760.
In 1992, the reserve of the Canadian armed forces revived the companies in a historical and continuous reconstitution since each year, in particular with the birthdays of the foundation of the town of Quebec (see photographs below).
In 2007 during the summer season, with the Strong Stewart of the island Grey waxbill, a troop of the frank Companies of the navy makes a historical reconstitution including the shooting of rifles and the lifting of the flag at the every day.
