Frank cabernet

The frank cabernet is a red Cépage of the family of the cabernets, of which he is the ancestor.

This type of vine is planted on approximately 45.000 ha in the world including 36.000 ha in France. The Aquitaine has more half of the acreages, followed by the valley of the the Loire.

It is characterized by its aromatic smoothness, its Arôme S spiced and sometimes of sweet pepper and its good aptitude for ageing, with respect to the Cabernet-sauvignon which presents less organoleptic interest but more phenolic compounds.

Famous the Château White Horse thus has 60% of sound encépagement resulting from frank cabernet. It is indeed an exception. This type of vine reveals all its dimension in the Val-de-Loire on the side of Bourgueil, Chinon and Saint-Nicolas-with-Bourgueil and Saumur-Champigny for example.

The frank cabernet is called bouchet in the Vignoble of St. Emilion, bouchy in the center of Breton Gascogne and in Touraine.
