Frank Joseph Zamboni, Jr. (born the January 16th 1901 with Eureka (Utah) and deceased the July 27th 1988) is a inventor étasunien which is famous to have created the Zamboni, machine allowing of resurfacer the ice.
Shortly after its birth. his/her parents, immigrant Italy NS, buy a farm in the State of the Idaho where it spends the first years of its life. In 1920, it moves with its family in the district of the port of Los Angeles where his/her older brother, George, work in a garage.
After having followed studies of trade to Chicago, Frank and his/her Lawrence younger brother open a company of electricity in 1922. The following year, it Marie (he will have three children on the whole). In 1927, it diversifies by creating a factory of Glace which they resell in 1939 in front of the generalization of the electric Frigo S.
The two brothers preserve their equipment of cooling to open, with a cousin in 1940 a Patinoire called Iceland which still exists and is always managed by the Zamboni family. In 1948, it invents and patents a machine making it possible to decrease the effort to remake the 90 minute old ice for three people at 10 minutes for only one person. The following year, it created the company Frank J. Zamboni & Co. to manufacture and sell this machine. The demand is so keen that it must open one second factory in the Ontario as well as a branch in Suisse.
In the Years 1970, it develops other machines making it possible to remove the water of the external skating rinks or to remove the bands painted on the ice inter alia.
He dies of a cancer in 1988, two months after the death of his wife. The Zamboni company, which sold more than 7000 of its machines, is always directed by the family, in fact by the girl and the grandson of Frank.
