Frank Wedekind

Frank Wedekind , born with Hanover the July 24th 1864 and deceased with Munich the March 9th 1918 is a German playwright .

His/her father is doctor, his mother actress and singer. He attends the universities of Munich and Zurich. He was the leader of the German expressionnism, influenced by Ibsen, Nietzsche, Hauptmann, Büchner and Strindberg. In 1908, it finds an employment in the satirical newspaper of Munich Simplicissimus.

Its theater disputes the middle-class company and the sexual taboos. It causes in a intention of emancipation of the masses and while using of many dramatic processes, the joke to the light comedy while passing by the drama and the circus.

Alban Berg took as a starting point the spirit of the ground and of limps It of Pandora to write Lulu .
