Frank Edward Thomas (born the May 27th 1968 in Columbus, Georgia) is an American player of Baseball which currently plays for the Blue Jays of Toronto. During its 17 seasons in the major League of baseball, it accumulated 2321 sure Coups and 500 Coups of circuit (at June 28th, 2007). Called The Big Hurt , he played for the Université Auburn in the teams of baseball and American football (at the station of Tight end) before being selected by the White Sox of Chicago to the 1st tower of the draft 1989 (7th total choice).
He begins his career in major League in 1990 with the White Sox of Chicago. He aligns 8 seasons of sharp with 100 produced points, 100 points and 100 automatic bases. In 1993, it is elected Meilleur player of the major leagues, striking 174 sure blows, 41 blows of circuit and 128 points produced. In 1994, it preserves this trophy, recording 38 blows of circuit and 101 points produced at the time one season shortened by a Grève of the players. In 2005, it begins the season with the White Sox from Chicago, but at the time of the world Série because of a fracture does not play of ankle.
In 2006, Thomas leaves White Sox to join the Athletics d' Oakland like Frappeur indicated. It strikes 39 blows of circuit and produces 114 points with an average with the stick of 0,270. The November 16th 2006, Thomas signs a two year old contract and 18,12 million dollars with the Blue Jays of Toronto. June 17th, 2007, it strikes its 496e circuit in career which is also its 244e as an indicated striker, establishing the new record of circuits struck for this station. June 28th, it enters the restricted club of the players having struck at least 500 circuits in career. It is the 21e player of major League to make its entry in this club. Seventeen years after its first blow of circuit in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, it strikes its 500e in this same stage vis-a-vis Carlo Silva, the launcher of the Twins of Minnesota.
