Biography

Ramsey was born with Cambridge where his/her father was president of the Magdalene College. He was educated with Winchester, before returning to Cambridge to study the Mathématiques with the Trinity College. He obtained his diploma as a Wrangler (first of the final examination of mathematics). The intelligence of Ramsey was remarkable and struck number of cambridgiens. It had read much books in many fields, and was interested in all. In a conversation with C.K. Ogden, it expressed its desire to learn the German . Ogden gave him a Grammaire, a Dictionnaire and a treaty of Psychologie while requiring of him to use the two first to deliver an opinion to him on the third. One week later, Ramsey had not only learned German, but had also formulated some objections against the theses supported in the treaty. Later, it used its knowledge of German to read the Tractatus logico-philosophicus of Wittgenstein, which made him a deep impression. In 1923, it went in Austria to discuss with Wittgenstein which worked then as teacher in a small village.

Of return in England in 1924, it became fellow with the King' S College at the 21 years age. It wrote a great quantity of work, in Logique, Mathématiques, economy and in Philosophie of these three disciplines. But, suffering of chronic problems of Liver, it contracted the Jaunisse after an operation and died at the 26 years age, at the beginning of a promising career.
