Frank Lloyd

Frank Lloyd is a realizer, producer, scenario writer and American actor born the February 2nd 1886 with Glasgow in Scotland and deceased the August 10th 1960 with Santa Monica in California.

He played in more than 60 films of 1913 to 1916, wrote more than 40 scénarii of 1913 to 1941, produced nearly 30 films of 1921 to 1955.

These is however the 132 films that it carried out of 1914 to 1955 which were worth to him to be recognized. Its kinds of predilection are the dramas, the adventures and the lovesongs. He will carry out several adaptations of books, like the poor wretches of Victor Hugo in 1917.

He also carried out " The mutiny of Bounty" (1935) and " Oliver Twist" (1922), one of the most faithful adaptations of the novel of Charles Dickens.

Frank Lloyd will gain two Oscars for the realization: In 1934 for " Cavalcade" (1933) and in 1930 for " Divine The Lady" (1929), whereas the film was not nominated for “the best director” (single in the history of the cinema).
