Frank Gall

Frank Gall is an author of Cartoon born on September 23rd, 1959 with Rouen.

Biography

It publishes its first boards, Pouce of Hardy fruit-tree , in Pistil of 1977 to 1978. It enters then to Spirou and realizes of 1981 to 1982 Valry Bonpain , a succession of complete stories scenarized by Alain Clément and putting in scene a saxophonist of jazz, before creating its hero with glasses Theodore Poussin in 1984.

One year later, on a text of Yann, it draws Yoyo in Circus whose first volume, the black Moon , is published in 1986. While continuing to work for the editions Dupuis, he collaborates in I Bouquine and illustrates several traditional like Pinocchio , Kid in mare , Eikki-Tiki-Tavi and Ali-Baba and the 40 robbers .

In collaboration with his brother Pierre Gall it conceives the Small black Tales . He also wrote several books for children with the editions Hachette. In 2007, it publishes the Marshes of time , ventures Spirou and Fantasio with the pre-1940s style.

In a few years, Frank Gall knew to create his own universe, coherent and original, its sources of inspiration being located at crossed of the cartoon (Franquin and Hergé) and of the literature (Blaise Cendrars and Pierre Mac Orlan). Regarded as one of the best current graphic designers, it proves to be also a very large scenario writer.
