Francoise Morvan , born in 1958 with Rostrenen (Coast-with Armor), is a writer French.

Her parents having left the Brittany, it made its studies with Colombes, then with the Sorbonne. After studies of letters, at 22 years, it is youngest aggregate of letters. Its thesis of doctorate in French literature relates to François-Marie Luzel and its thesis of State on Armand Robin.

Work

Francoise Morvan is known for her work in various fields.

Work for the theater

Its translation of Désir under the elms of Eugene O' Neill led it to translate the complete Théâtre of John Millington Synge and the parts of Seán O' Casey, while carrying out a reflection on the translation of the Sociolecte S (translating anglo-English of Synge into French of Low-Brittany).

It also translated the complete theater of Tchekhov into collaboration with André Markowicz, makes the translation and the presentation of the Songe one night of summer of Shakespeare in collaboration with André Markowicz (published with the editions the inopportune Recluses). It also adapted this part under the title the Play of the dream .

She wrote some spectacles, for the company of Entresort the Bread of the hearts , Of a Bush of brambles (for which she adapted Sainte Tryphine and the king Arthur according to Luzel) and of the texts for musicians ( Navigation ).

She wrote also the booklet of opera of the Balcon of Peter Eötvös and tried to give again life with the popular theater (edition of Sainte Tryphine and the king Arthur with the university Presses of Rennes, in relation to the spectacle of Entresort for the inauguration of the theater of Morlaix, 2002).

She obtained the Molière 2006 of the best theatrical adaptation with André Markowicz for her translation of the Platonov of Tchekhov, put in scene by Alain Françon.

Critical and edition

It published works of Armand Robin and in particular published his manuscripts in accordance with their original form hitherto truncated ( Fragments , Gallimard editions).

It also published works in prose of François-Marie Luzel (eighteen volumes) while affirming scrupulously to respect of them the manuscripts, which it gives out of FAC similé ( new Contes III , notebooks of collecting, in collaboration with Marthe Vassallo and by always giving the bilingual text when there existed ( Breton Contes , university Presses of Rennes). Its thesis, which gives an account of this edition and the problems that it met with this occcasion, was constant with Honourable Très mention and the congratulations of the jury unanimously.

It published works of Danielle Collobert with the editions POL. and published a hundred forewords, articles and tests.

It translated and published works which seemed to him close to its research, with various titles: the lay S of Marie de France and the poems of Sylvia Plath.

Children's literature

Gavotte of the thousand legs (southern Acts junior) was the first of its books of songs, followed by books of tales ( the Woman of the gray wolf , the School of the leisures; Imps and lutines , Librio). It began a common work with illustrators (and has magazine also certain texts).

Studies on the popular traditions

The edition of Luzel led it to continue its research while being directed towards the fantastic characters, Lutin S ( Vie and manners of the Breton imps , southern Babel/Actes), and Fée S initially ( soft life of the fairies of water , southern Babel/Actes) by regarding the authentic popular traditions as a frail stopping against the marketing of the folklore. It based its investigations into the erudite reviews by giving the precise references and by precisely quoting the texts, while inserting them in a development aiming at making sensitive the humor and the poetry of these texts.

It widened its work with the French popular tale as a whole and directs the collection “the great collections” to the Ouest-France editions: it thus published the collection of Jean-François Bladé (Gascogne), of Amélie Bosquet (Normandy), and of Henry Carnoy (Picardy).

Various tests

Its Essai Le Monde like if published in 2002 with the editions Actes Sud, and subtitles “nationalism and identity drift in Brittany”, knew several pullings before reappearing in collection of pocket to the editions southern Babel/Actes (in 2005). This test is the object of durable debates in the cultural and political mediums being claimed of Brittany.

It contributed to found, in 2000, the Groupe information Brittany (GRIB), which is fixed to fight “against the seizure of the nationalist militants on the culture in Brittany”.
