Francoise Castex is appointed European of the Socialist party since June 2004. This Gers oise was born the February 7th 1956 with Agadir with the Morocco.
Political course
Francoise Castex is titular of a control of letters, of a DEA in sciences of the education (Toulouse-Mirail) and graduate of the high studies of the social practices (university of Paris III).
She entered in policy by trade-union engagement; she was assistant general secretary of the trade union of the popular education to FEN of 1990 with 1998, when she was civil servant with the departmental management of the youth and the sports of the Gers. She was also president of the departmental committee of the Ligue of the Human rights of the Gers of 1992 with 1998 and member of her central committee of 1995 with 1998.
She adhered to the Socialist party in 1991, initially with the current of Gauche Socialist then with Nouveau World. Of 1998 with 2000, it was adviser near Philippe Martin, president of the general advice of the Gers, then member of the cabinet of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, deputy secretary with the Vocational training.
She led the public combat for not to the referendum of May 29th, 2005 on the project of European Constitution with Henri Emmanuelli, then followed it to the Nouveau Socialist party.
