Madeleine Francoise Basseporte , born in 1701 in Paris where she died in 1780, is a painter Frenchwoman.
Having an early gift for the drawing, it becomes the pupil of Claude Aubriet. She replaces this one as painter of the Jardin of the king to her death in 1743. She is charged by the king Louis XV with teaching the painting of the flowers to the royal princesses.
She collaborates in addition with the chemist Rouelle and the Larchevêque sculptor; Jussieu gives him lessons of botany.
It also supplemented the ordering of a collection of plants on vellum, made by Gaston of Orleans.
