Francisco Solano (draftsman)
Francisco Solano Lopez was born with Buenos Aires the 26 October 1928.
Author of cartoons starting from 1953 with the Editions Abril, it meets Héctor Oesterheld, with which is born an association from great importance for the Argentinian cartoon. After having worked together on series like Uma- Uma and Bull Rockett , they emigrate with the Editions Frontera, for which Solano Lopez will draw Rolo the merchant adoptivo , negro Amapola , Joe Zonda , Moonbeam and, especially, Eternaute .
In the the Sixties Lopez leaves for the Europe, where it work for the English publisher Fleetway. It always returns into Argentinian in the 1976, where it takes again Eternaute , in collaboration with Oesterheld; At the same time, it draws Slot Barr, on the texts of Riccardo Barreiro.
The serious Argentinian political situation constrained with the exile with Madrid, in Spain, and the series Eternaute remains unfinished. Of Spain then of Rio de Janeiro with the Brazil, it continues sla collaboration with Barreiro and scenario writers like Carlo Sampayo, of which it draws the stories Evaristo , one of its best series.
Returned to Argentina for a few years, it has taken again the Saga Eternaute with Eternaute: the Return and produces the series the Net surfers for the supplement of data processing of the daily newspaper Clarìn , a weekly Cartoon in which it mixes adventure and virtual reality.
