Biography

• Francisco Mancebo becomes professional in 1998 with the team “Banesto”. There remains faithful to this formation under these various names, Ibanesto.com (2001-2003) and It Balears of 2004-2005. In 2006, it changes formation to go to AG 2R Prévoyance in company of the French Christophe Moreau. Very good climbing, it made good match with the German Andreas Klöden in the Pyrenees at the time of the Tour de France 2004 and it clung to the group Lance Armstrong in the mountain, often finishing with Mickael Rasmussen the best climbing one of the Tour de France 2005. 4th of the last Tour de France, Paco Mancebo was always regarded as an outsider, but in 2006, it could have claimed with the final victory. Expelled within the framework of the Business Puerto the day before the Turn, just like Ivan Basso, it the very same day announces the end of its career.
