Francisco Madero

Francisco Ignacio Madero González (October 30th 1873 with Parras Coahuila - February 22nd 1913) was a politician, who was president Mexico of 1911 with 1913. It is known in Mexico like “el Apostol of the revolucion” the apostle of the revolution.

Its family, among richest, is of Portuguese origin . He studied with Baltimore, HEC Paris Jouy-in-Josas and the University of California with Berkeley.

This member of the Oligarchie (the notable ones) wanted to bring the democracy to Mexico, but without upsetting the company, he thought that the democracy would even bring by it and with the wire of time improvement of the living conditions for the whole of the Mexicans. He was also freemason.

At the time of the presidential election of 1910, the partisans of the president Porfirio Díaz with the capacity since 1876 made all their possible to discredit Madero. It was stopped, then with its release it was exiled with the the United States of America and proclaimed the Plan San Luis which started the Mexican Civil war.

Its watchword was “sufragio efectivo, No réeleccion” vote effective step of re-election.

After fall of Ciudad Juarez and the departure in exile of Porfirio Díaz, Madero gained the presidential election in October 1911 (it reached the capacity the November 6th), divisions among the revolutionists were large. For divergent reasons, Madero disappointed agrarists and conservatives as for the management of the agrarian problems. It sent to Morelos several generals, of which Victoriano Huerta to fight the partisans of Emiliano Zapata, with which it had been put in dissension about the distribution of the grounds.

With the beginning of the year 1913, Victoriano Huerta, the commander of the armed forces, conspired with Felix Díaz (the nephew of Porfirio) and the ambassador states-unien Henry Lane Wilson to seize the capacity the February 18th 1913. Gustavo Madero was assassinated the very same day.

Four days later, Francisco I. Madero and vice president Jose María Pino Suárez were in their turn assassinated.

Francisco Villa dedicated an immense friendship to him and sought later to avenge it.

To note that Francisco I. Madero was the first president in the world in exercise to be flown by plane.
