Cisneros, Francisco Jiménez of , cardinal Franciscain (1436 - 1517) and Spanish politician. He had been the initiator of the confrontation of the translations Greek (the Seventy) and Latin (the Vulgate of Saint Jerome) of the Bible with the Hebrew text , this with the assistance of the Conversos. Biography

Franciscain born in Castille, become cardinal, confessor of the queen Isabelle de Castille (1492), archbishop of Tolède (1495), administrator of Castille, he becomes the regent of Spain to died of the queen (1504), large Inquisiteur of Castille (1507-1516), conqueror of Oran (1509).
