Francisco Hernández de Córdoba

Francisco Hernández de Córdoba died in 1517 with Havana was a Spanish Conquistador, envoy in forwarding by the governor of Cuba, Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar, the February 8th 1517. He discovered the Yucatan and civilization Maya. During this voyage, told by Bernal Díaz del Castillo half of the soldiers were killed and other half wounded. Hernández de Córdoba was seriously wounded and died shortly after their return with Havana.
