Francisco Antonio Zea Naturalist and Colombian politician , born in 1770 with Medellin and died in 1822 with Bath.

It makes explorations with Jose Celestino Mutis (1731-1808). In 1805, he is professor of Botanique and director of the Botanical garden of Madrid. He is Minister of Interior Department in the government of Joseph Bonaparte (1768-1844). He leaves in South America in 1814. It joint with Simón Bolívar (1783-1830) against the Spaniards. He becomes vice-president of Colombia in 1819. In 1820, he is ambassador in Great Britain. He is the author of many scientific articles as well as Historia de Colombia (1821).
