Francis Xavier Kriengsak Kovitvanit , born the June 27th 1949 with Round of applause Rak, in Thailand, is the current bishop roman catholic of the diocese of Nakhon Sawan, he succeeds Mgr Louis Chamniern Santisukniran, appointed archbishop of Thare and Nonseng on July 1st 2005.

Biography

He studied with the Petit seminar of Joseph Saint to Sampran. Envoy then with Rome, it followed philosophical and theological studies to the pontifical Université Urbaniana (1970 - 1976), like boarder of the Collegio Urbano . Of return to the country, it was ordered priest the July 11th 1976 and incardiné in the Archidiocèse of Bangkok.

It fulfilled the following functions:

1976: parochial Vicar, " Nativity off Mary" Church, Round of applause Side;
1977 - 1979: Parochial vicar, " Epiphany Church" , Koh Vai;
1979 - 1981: Vice-rector of the minor Seminar Holy Joseph, in Sampran;
1982 - 1983: Studies of specialization in Spirituality with the Gregorian University.
1983 - 1989: Vice-chancellor of the intermediate Seminar " Holy Family" , with Nakhon Ratchasima;
1989 - 1993: Under-secretary of the Episcopal conference;
1992 - 2000: Vice-chancellor of the National seminar " Lux Mundi" , in Sampran;
2000 - 2003: Priest, " Our Lady off Lourdes" , Hooted Take.
Since 2001: Extraordinary professor with the Seminar of Sampran.
2003 - 2007: Priest of the Cathedral of Bangkok and Secrétaire of the the Council presbytéral of the archdiocese of Bangkok.
March 7th 2007: Benoît XVI appointed it bishop of Nakhon Sawan.

Diocese of Nakhon Sawan

The diocese of Nakhon Sawan, suffragan of the archdiocese of Bangkok, was set up in 1967. It has a surface of 93.547 km ², a population of 8.327.052 inhabitants including 11.605 catholics. The Paroisse S are 29, priests 35 (26 diocesans, 9 monks), monks 5, nuns 44, the Séminariste S 15.
