Francis Mayer (born in 1950 with Ettendorf and dead the December 9th 2006), was a senior official French. He was the managing director of the Deposit and consignment office December 18th 2002 with his death, posts to which he had been named by the president of the Republic, Jacques Chirac.
Francis Mayer was named with the head of the Deposit and consignment office (CDC) by the president Jacques Chirac on December 18th 2002, at the end of a virulent battle to draw aside its competitors, of which its predecessor, Daniel Lebègue. Under its mandate, the real activity of the competitive sector was gathered within the subsidiary company Icade which was placed on the stock market.
It also tried to redefine the relations between the Case of the deposits and the group of the Savings banks by yielding its participation in the subsidiary company of investment and common management of credits, CDC IXIS become Ixis, against 35% of the capital of the Squirrel. This operation will not have a continuation because of the bringing together occurred in spring 2006 between the Savings banks and the Banque Populaires which will lead to the creation of Natixis and at the exit of the Case of the deposits of the capital of the National bank of the Savings banks against the payment of 7 billion euros. Very weakened and often hospitalized since the beginning of 2006, he dies the December 9th 2006 with Paris, at the 56 years age. He was married and father of three children.
He is the initiator of the repurchase by the CDC of 2,5% of the actions EADS held by the Groupe Lagardere by laquel the CDC made a latent depreciation of 200 million euros on an investment of 600 million. (see Business EADS)
